BURR BUR WALNUT DRESSING TABLE / DESK. BOW FRONT. CIRCA 1939 +

This dressing table has burr walnut veneer on the top and on the front of the drawers. It belonged to a relative and is thought to have been bought in 1939 from Maple & Co. for whom he worked and were famous furniture manufacturers at the time. However I am not a furniture expert and the date is not certain. It originally had a mirror attached to the rear but that was broken and removed. The optional thick glass top was also broken at the back edge (perhaps where the mirror fell on it) but could still be used. It is an attractive item in very nice condition. The insides of the drawers are almost stain free. It measures approximately 30" high plus 2" for the rear strip, 42" wide and 20" deep including the central bow front. I no longer have the space for it. A stool is included which is probably from the same date but is not as good quality and the original fabric would probably need replacing.
